This Vidhi Mandap consists of the traditional Indian requirement of a central fireplace known as the agni-kund or agni-ohm. It is used for lighting the holy fire. Brahmins, bride and bridegrooms and parents sit around the lit fire while the rites are being performed. Of course, the famed Indian “saat phere” or walking seven rounds linked together to accept the fire god as the major witness and giver of divine blessings for their marriage is of the prime importance. This Vidhi Mandap Decoration attributes to the fact that Indian weddings are around five day long. There are a number of rituals that take place before, after and on the wedding day itself. Vidhi Mandap Decoration is also such ritual. After the var mala ceremony is over, the couple is blessed by the elderly people of both the families. This is followed by the Vidhi Mandap Decoration, which is performed under a canopy supported on four pillars. This is called Mandap. It is usually made of bamboo and is decorated with red and silver colors.
